This is hardly a surprise as within touching distance of the Hotel are a number of excellent golf courses, including the K Club which hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup. Just beside the hotel is Lucan Golf Club while the Hermitage and Luttrellstown courses sit just up the road. A little further west is Carton House which has hosted the Irish Open in recent years. Kilmainham Gaol (Jail)

Many of Ireland's most important historical figures spent time here with the Leaders of the 1916 Rebellion executed here. Kilmainham Gaol is worth a visit! Just accross from the Gaol you can also visit The Irish National War Memorial Park and The Royal Hospital which is home to the museum of modern art.

The University of Dublin, Trinity College
