Wedding Tips #9: Helping Create the Christmas Wedding Theme
25 November 2016
Okay, so it’s Christmas. You’re thinking lots of red with hints of green? Our tip is to avoid the traditional colours and consider the endless list of more modern winter options. Shades of berry or plum, purples (purple cala lilies are a personal favourite) or even silver can help create the perfect atmosphere straight away. Furthermore, indulging in some glitter for an extra festive feeling, with sequin or glitter bridesmaid dresses looking spectacular in wedding photos.
Including hot drinks on arrival such as mulled wine or even hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows is something that won’t cost an arm and a leg, but will be greatly appreciated by guests looking to warm themselves up after arriving to your wedding reception venue. Adding little treats like mince pies or candy cranes can bring out the cheer in everyone straight away.
Table Centrepieces and Décor
More than likely, your wedding venue will have Christmas decorations throughout the banqueting suite and other areas. Ensure these details are carried throughout by choosing the right table centrepieces/décor. With the shorter days, candled centrepieces go a long way to help create the snug mood. Other simple ideas, such as those available at Favour Lane like wine glass decorations or place name holders are perfect for a Christmas wedding.
Continue the Christmas theme throughout on printed signage and table plans, menus etc. Whether your preference is a subtle hints or bold reds and reindeers, arrange your printed material to reflect the theme.
With photobooths so popular nowadays, ensure there is enough Christmas props to go around for everyone’s enjoyment. Or if you’re a diehard Christmas fanatic, Santa hats for guests or even the venue service staff could be your thing.
