Planning your wedding is an exciting journey, and choosing the right venue is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. At our Dublin hotel, we pride ourselves on creating beautifully personalised celebrations, guided by experience, care, and attention to every detail. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions to help you begin planning your perfect day with confidence.
Venue Availability & Logistics
1. Is our preferred wedding date available?
We’d love to explore availability with you in person. Please contact our wedding team to arrange a visit — we would be delighted to meet you and check dates together.
2. Do you host more than one wedding per day?
Lucan Spa Hotel has a strict policy of one wedding per day. This allows us to focus on your day along to ensure all our care and attention is on you and your guests.
3. What is your maximum and minimum guest capacity?
Our maximum seating numbers for your reception meal is 240 guests. We do not apply a minimum number for your day. We believe every wedding is unique and different and offer several options and packages for intimate weddings for numbers below 50 guests. 4. What areas are included on the day?
Our Boyne Suite reception area is exclusively yours for the duration of your day. Private to the remainder of the hotel, the use of this suite includes your ceremony space, your pre-reception area for drinks and nibbles as well as the banqueting space itself. The suite features its own stage, dance floor, two fully-stocked bars (one located in the room itself) and its own dedicated bathroom and private balcony area.
5. Is your hotel wheelchair accessible?
Our Boyne Suite reception area is located on the ground floor of the hotel and is free from any steps, making it fully accessible for guests who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility. The reception area also features its own dedicated wheelchair accessible bathrooms.
Pricing, Payments & Policies
6. What is the total cost, and what is included in your packages?
Our wedding packages start from €65 per guest (midweek dates) and €70 per guest (weekend dates). You can find out all that is included in our wedding packages here.
7. Are there any additional fees we should know about?
Our packages are designed to offer total transparency and our wedding coordinators will guide you and provide a total price to you for your day. Our goal is to offer unlimited flexibility when choosing to host your wedding day with us here at Lucan Spa Hotel. You can add in and/or take out selected options to your final package and these changes can alter your final price.
8. What is your deposit schedule, payment policy, and refund/cancellation terms?
The deposit required to confirm your wedding date bookings ranges from €750 - €1,500 and this is dependant on the wedding package you have chosen (for example, our All-Inclusive Sterling Wedding Package requires a booking deposit of €1,500 as this deposit is used to confirm the wedding suppliers attached to this package). Our wedding coordinating team will discuss our full terms and conditions with you and you will receive a copy of these on booking.
9. When would final guest numbers and final payment be required?
We ask couples to provide their final number of guests along with the final payment 5 days in advance to their day.
Catering & Drinks
10. What choice do I have on our wedding menu?
This will depend on your package chosen. For example, the majority of weddings would select a choice of one starter, one soup/sorbet, two main course dishes and one dessert on the day of their wedding. However, it is possible to add a choice (or an extra choice) onto one/a number of courses at an extra supplement cost.
11. Are menu tastings included?
Yes, we include a menu tasting for two people with all our wedding bookings. These are offered on available afternoon/evenings on Mondays – Thursdays. Typically, couples are asked to book their wedding tasting around 3 months in advance to their day.
12. Can you accommodate dietary requirements and allergies?
Yes. We always offer silent options for any of your guests who require a specific allergy or dish served on the day (e.g. vegan guests, coeliac guests etc).
13. What drink packages are offered?
Once again, we offer an unlimited range of options for drinks to be added to your package. This includes options for an arrival/post ceremony drinks reception, meal drinks or the inclusion of open bars (whether limited or unlimited).
Ceremony & Reception Details
14. Can you host civil/indoor/outdoor ceremonies on site?
Lucan Spa Hotel is a fully-registered wedding venue to host your official wedding ceremony. We offer both indoor and outdoor options and you can learn more here.
15. What backup plan is available for outdoor weddings in case of bad weather?
We always have an elegant indoor ceremony space reserved as part of your wedding plan. Should it be needed, our experienced team can transition smoothly, allowing your celebration to continue exactly as envisioned.
16. Where will photos take place?
Our couples and your guests will have full use of our grounds for photos and videography. This includes use of our private woodland area, our wedding bench and front lawn space, our Boyne Suite balcony area along with all areas inside our Georgian hotel and bridal suite. 17. Can we personalise the ceremony layout and décor?
We love listening to our couple’s ideas for their day and welcome any suggestions and inspirations with regards layout and décor for your day. We have worked with many wedding décor companies who help shape the day of your dreams.
18. Who will be our main venue contact on the day?
Our wedding coordinators are with you throughout your wedding experience. From wedding planning to the day itself and beyond, your assigned wedding coordinator will be on hand to ensure your day runs smooth and you and your guests are looked after. You will also be ably assisted by members of our banqueting and management team.
Practical & Day-of Questions
19. Do you have preferred vendor lists? Or can we choose our own suppliers?
As a venue with huge experience of hosting weddings throughout the years, we are favourably in a position to recommend several top wedding suppliers and you can view this list here. In addition to this, you are free to choose your own wedding suppliers for your day.
20. Is there a bridal suite or getting-ready room?
Lucan Spa Hotel features its own dedicated bridal suite that is provided to couples complimentary* as part of an overnight stay. Should this suite be available, we allow early check-in to facilitate one of the bride or groom get ready from the morning onwards. Should the suite be unavailable on the morning of your wedding, we can provide an alternative option for preparing the morning of your wedding.
21. Are decorations, candles, confetti, or fireworks allowed?
Extra decorations and candles can be facilitated where they do not hinder standard health and safety standards of the hotel. Where confetti is used, it must be free from any sticky or glitter residue and when used outdoors, be biodegradable.
Fireworks can be organised, but these must be provided, organised and handled by a registered company and provide all necessary insurance paperwork to the hotel.
22. Is parking available, and how many spaces?
Complimentary car parking is provided to all wedding guests and the complex of Lucan Spa Hotel features 200 car parking spaces.
Accommodation & Guest Info
23. Do you offer rooms for the bridal party or guests?
Depending on your wedding package chosen and the number of your guests attending, you can receive up to three overnight rooms complimentary for your wedding (e.g. the bridal suite and two extra bedrooms)*.
24. Are blocked or discounted rates available for wedding guests?
We offer discounted accommodation rates to all wedding guests attending your wedding and these discounts are not limited to a particular number of bedrooms booked. We provide a booking code to all couples to distribute to their wedding guests for them to receive the discount when booking their accommodation.
Planning & Bespoke Services
25. Do you offer event coordination or planner support?
Throughout your wedding planning journey, Lucan Spa Hotel’s team of wedding coordinators are on hand to provide all assistance to you. We are available to contact at any time and are delighted to answer any questions or arrange any appointments as you wish.
26. Do you help with timelines, seating plans, or supplier coordination?
On booking your wedding at Lucan Spa Hotel, you will receive a full wedding file that maps out your wedding day and discusses choices with regards timelines, seating plans and décor choices for your day. This helps keep you informed as to any outstanding item that needs deciding on the lead up to your day.
27. Can we visit the venue more than once before booking?
Absolutely! We love meeting with our couples and chatting to them about their day. Many couples like to come out several times to the venue to see and chat about various ideas and thoughts. We also host two Wedding Fairs throughout the year and typically couples visit these to assist with inspiration and ideas.
